Geeking coding pleasure

Last night didn't turn out how I'd planned and instead I ended up watching a bit of TV, the end of a truely dire Seagal film and doing lots and lots of lovely coding.

I had the crazy idea for my MUD of having each object class consist of just one C file compiled into a shared object that is dynamically linked in as required. It means that if I were to alter how a class worked, it wouldn't need the MUD to be restarted for the changes to take effect. Not entirely happy with how the method inheritance works just yet, but that's something I'll work on when I next get a chance. And it loads/saves the objects into a DB for persistance.

I'm sure there's probably a better way of doing things, but it all just works. Which makes me very happy.

Of course I have to work it into the rest of the code and finish the whole thing. Somehow I don't think that's going to happen any time soon given how long it's taken me so far :)

Pub tonight of course. I wonder who will show up this week.
