The lino, the plumbing and the dishwasher

Well since they wouldn't install it, I've had a go at installing the dishwasher myself. I think the inlet pipe is firmly secured - I turned the valve on to see if there was any leakage and there wasn't. I dangled the outlet pipe into the bigger outlet pipe - I even attached the thing that hooks it over. The one snag to installing it is...well it snags on the torn lino.

The cretins that installed the washing machine torn a huge chunk out of the lino. So now, when I try pushing the dishwasher in next to it, it catches and won't budge.

Not entirely sure what to do. Ideally I should do something about the lino, but that would mean taking out the washing machine. I can't leave the dishwasher sticking out, because it blocks the cupboard where the main water tap/valve/whatever is kept. And that means I can't really test it in it's current position.

Blah...maybe I should sort out the plumbing, the lino and the dishwasher at the same time.
