Killer Queen

I don't know how it managed to evade me last night, but the sodding evil bee was sitting quite happily by my doorstep when I left for work. Or at least it was happy until I ran it over with my bike. And then ran it over again. And again. And again. Basically until it was a greasy smear on the pavement.

Actually technically I didn't really run it over cos that implies the bike was moving in a horizontal wheel type manner. I was actually just smashing the front wheel on to it (repeatedly).

Hurrah! The Queen is dead! Long live me!

One of the time travelling commuters bugs the hell out of me more than all the rest put together. She insists on standing as close to the door possible, despite the fact that my bike is usually in the way. She practically stands with her legs either side of my front wheel.

Today however, rather than standing inside the area the bike and train make (being right handed, I prefer standing on the left of it and the bike is normally facing NorthEast so that means standing in the triangle) cos I faced the bike NorthWest for a change (there are usually automatic doors in the way) and stood in the open gap. Which is where she normally stands.

She stood debating what to do and at first I thought she was going to sit down in one of the MANY empty seats (the train is rarely busy), but no - she just went and stood in the other doorway. If only the train wasn't 3 carriages long today, then the other 2 cyclists would have forced her right to the back of the train. Except I doubt she'd have gone that far - she'd have just stood on someone else's bike.

Last night's SW class was very very odd. For a start we were in a different room (small room downstairs for those of you who've been to the Social hall) and me and Rachael were crammed into one of the corners. Definitely didn't really feel happy about the change. It did feel in some ways like she was trying to act like she was better at it than cryx, but I suspect that is just cos I'm her friend and any such change would feel like that.

She does seem to have made it into a career though. She has vastly more stock than I've ever seen a consulant have and brings so much stuff with her. It's no wonder she didn't want to have the upstairs room. She even has a little fruit bowl for people to put their slimmer of the week donations into. Well I can't wait for the official non-temp person to start, which isn't Rachael - honest.

i think it's hard for her coming in to an existing class, cos people often are happy with how things have gone before, so you always have to make extra effort for a new class.

Yeah I know. Just feels like she's making too much of an effort. Still, you'll be back at class soon anyway so that'll help I'd imagine.

Why on earth did you kill the queen bee? That was meanly of you! She was out of your house and was unlikly to sting you anyways. If it was a wasp I could understand, they're evil little bastards - but bees are nice.
=(

Well I think it might have been dead anyway, cos I probably bludgeoned it to death trying to shake it loose from the duvet. And I'm not 100% certain it was a Queen bee. It was very large, buzzed and was black and yellow, so it could have been a hornet for all the time I spent examining it.

I also discovered that Queen bees can sting repeatedly, so it could have stung me - it was making lots of "I'm really annoyed" type noises.

I guess the main reason tho, is that it scared me witless and meant I got practically no sleep.
