Tescos are well and truely on the fail bus this xmas. They haven't got any brandy/rum butter in stock. Apparently they only ordered one crate in and that (unsurprisingly) sold out within minutes of being put on the shelves. Luckily, being a clever bunny I know how to make it from ingredients, so that's what I've done today.

I did slightly overdo it on the rum though because it turns out the funky flashing light shotglasses I have aren't 25ml, they 75ml. Which means that all those times I've had booze in August using them, I've drunk 3 times the amount I thought I was drinking. It's a miracle I haven't died, but I suppose the 3 unit maximum guideline is just that - a guideline. And going over just carries the risk of internal bleeding and death.

The reason for wanting some rum butter, is cos I've been eatening a bit festively recently. Today for example, I had some turkey, stuffing and gravy sandwiches. Tomorrow I'll be eating xmas pudding too with the newly created rum butter. And then I'll be doing it all again properly on the actual day too. I like xmas food.

Yes I'm planning on making brandy butter. no idea if they even sell it here. Not having done it before I have to figure out how I'm going to manage that

It's surprisingly easy to make. Just get some unsalted butter, mix in some icing sugar and then stir in the booze.
