I'm so glad I switched from Scottish Power. I just phoned up Southern Electric to query why the last time the guy came around to read the gas meter hadn't been registered to discover it hasn't been read since I switched. But unlike SP, SE put a note on the account that the meter was outside around the back. SP claimed they could never do that. What a bunch of 'tards. Hopefully this means that they'll read the meter next time and discover just how little gas I use.
